The professional services sector, which includes financial, business advisory and engineering design services, is the largest and fastest growing sector in the Victorian economy. Professional services account for $63 billion of 18 per cent of Victorian Gross State Product. The 344,700 workers in this sector are highly skilled and well paid, earning 30 per cent above the national average wage. This sector is becoming increasingly important as the state moves towards a more specialised, knowledge driven economy.
